What's Acceptable?
The Obion County Recycling Center will accept many items for proper disposal for a fee, and some items are accepted free of charge. Please also see our list of items that are NOT accepted for any reason. Fee prices are subject to change.
Free of Charge Items and Services:
Please seperate all items according to listed type.
- Cardboard
- Paper/Mail
- Newspaper
- Magazines
- Aluminum drink cans, please rinse out
- Steel Food cans, please rinse. ie can goods
- Platics, please rinse. Number 1 – clear plastics - (ie soda/water drink bottles)
- Plastics, please rinse. Number 2’s - white or opaque plastics (ie milk jugs )
- Plastics, please rince. Number 2's - colored plastics
- Clean motor oil - 5 gal per day per person - Motor Oil must not be mixed with brake fluid, antifreeze, water, etc. Keep oil in container with lid closed
- Used Car/Truck Oil Filters
- Used Electronics – E Scrap
- Waste Tires – Fee charged according to tire size
- Paper Document Shredding – Up to 25 lbs. $0.20/pound over 25 lbs.
Acceptable Items for Disposal for a Fee:
- Florescent Bulbs - Fee charged according to bulb length
- TVs & Computer Monitors – Fee charged according to item type

- Cellophane (plastic wrap)
- Wax Paper
- Styrofoam
- Glass of any kind
- Appliances
- Wood
- Paint
- Garbage
Location
The convenience center is located behind Tennessee Tractor and across the road from the Obion County Health Department.
