Budget Committee
The Budget Committee meets on the 1st Monday of each month. There are no meetings in December.
The Budget committee is a 7 member board comprised of 1 member per District. The members are recommended by the County Mayor and approved by the County Commission. Members serve a 1 year term after January appointment by the County Commission. Budget Chair and Vice Chair are elected during the March Meeting.
This committee is responsible for drafting the annual budget with all department heads and monitoring actions on the budget for the County Commission The budget committee also sets the agenda for County Commission meetings.
The Obion County Budget Committee meets 9 times a year on the 1st Monday of January, March, May, June, July, August, September, October, and November. No meetings are held in the month of February, April, or December. The Budget committee typically meets 2 weeks prior to the regular Commission meeting. Changes from this schedule are published in the local media outlets Additional meetings may be called as needed any time during the year.
