How do I Report a Road Issues or a Complaint?

Call the Obion County Highway Department at (731) 885-5960.  Emergency road conditions, call 911 or the Obion County Sheriff Department at (731) 885-5832.

 


 

What Paperwork is Required to Get Married?

You can obtain your marriage license at the County Clerk’s office located on the first floor of the Courthouse.  The cost for a marriage license is $99.50 and $39.50 with completion of counseling. »Premarital Counseling Form

 


 

Can I Get Married at the Courthouse?

Unfortunately, we do not have any individual on site that can perform a ceremony for you.  Any county commissioner, city mayor, or church pastor can perform your ceremony.


 

Where Do I Go to Pay Fines or Tickets? 

Fines and tickets are paid upstairs at the courthouse in the General Sessions office.  You will have to pass through security to gain access to the upstairs court offices.



 

What is the Dress Code for Court?  

Please see the General Sessions or Circuit Court department page for a full list of court rules.  Dress as you normally would to go to church.  No shorts, tank tops, ripped clothing, or gang related clothing allowed.  Also, no weapons, cellphones, purses, food, or drink allowed.  You will pass through security before entering the courts.


 

How Do I Change My Court Date?

Call the respective court.  General Sessions(731) 507-0999 Ext.#1, then #2; Circuit Court(731) 507-0999 Ext.#1, then #1; Chancery Court(731) 507-0999 Ext.#1, then #3.

 


 

Where is Driving School Held? 

Driving school is held at the Obion County Mayor’s Office at 316 S. 3rd Street, Union City, TN 38261.   Driving school begins at 6:00 p.m. and is usually held the 2nd & 4th Tuesday or each month.  To reschedule, call General Sessions court (731) 507-0999 Ext.#1, then #2.


 

Where is the drive thru location to renew tags and pay property taxes? 

Located at 324 s. 1st Street at the corner of First and Harrison Street.  Previously the First Citizens Bank drive thru Location. Motor vehicle tag renewals and property taxes can be paid at this location.  For property taxes, only check payment is accepted.  24 hours secure night depository is also available for tax payment drop off.

 


 

Is there a building code in the Obion County? 

Each city in the county has its own codes.  Outside of city limits, no code exists.  However, you do need to pull a building permit.  Permits can be obtained from the Obion County Assessor’s Office in the Obion County Courthouse by calling  (731) 507-0999 Ext.#4.

 


 

 

How do I report building code issues within the city limit of a particular city in Obion County.

How do I Renew my Driver’s License?

The Union City Driver Services and Reinstatement Center is located at 1604B W Reelfoot Ave, Union City, TN 38261.  This building is shared with Twin Oaks Technology.  It is located across the road from Walmart and behind Taco Bell.  You may also visit the Tennessee Department of Transportation website.

The Obion County Clerk's office in the Obion County Courthouse partnered with IdentoGO offers fingerprinting services and background checks.   The service is provided BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.   Visit https://tn.state.identogo.com/ to schedule an appointment.   All major credit cards are accepted.  NO CASH OR PERSONAL CHECKS.
